Edward Jones Financial Advisor Ed Dixon III

Mr. Dixon is a Financial Advisor in the growing city of Frisco, TX. He began his Edward Jones career in 2012 and has been in the financial services industry for over 10 years. Mr. Dixon has served in many capacities in his current region, including New Advisor Trainer, Level New-1 Coach, Diversity Inclusion Specialist and Visiting Veteran.

Mr. Dixon came to Edward Jones because he wants to help individual investors work toward achieving their financial goals. In addition, his Sr. Branch Office Administrator, Penny Harding, is always here to help with your needs. The pair has worked together for the last 3 years to help ensure each client feels welcomed and valued.

A 2001 graduate of Kalamazoo College, Mr. Dixon holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He is an active member of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. Originally from Detroit, MI, Mr. Dixon has lived in the north Dallas area for 9 years. "As a part of this community, I have a passion for serving at my church, One Community in Plano, TX. I lead our Audio/Visual team that spans over 3 campuses and also serve with our high school youth. However, my most gratifying, and sometimes most challenging role is that of a family man. My spouse of 11 years, Brittany, and I have 3 children: Laila, Caleb, and Gabriel."

Student Speaker:

Victoria Taylor: Class of 2019 Cambridge School of Dallas

Victoria Taylor is a senior at The Cambridge School of Dallas. She is a Girl Scout, competitive swimmer, member of the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and Head of the Cambridge Ambassadors. She is currently working on college applications and plans to major in pharmacology.

Diversity Specialist & Speaker:

Diversity Consultant: Mia Mbroh

Mia Mbroh is a licensed professional counselor and nationally certified counselor with over 25 years experience in the fields of education, counseling, parenting education and family/community reconciliation and restoration.  Mia is a certified parent educator and a trained facilitator. She holds a graduate degree in family counseling and certification in mediation.    She is a graduate of Plano Leadership Class 22, a former board member of Plano Youth Leadership and the Diversity Board of Plano Independent School District. Mia presently sits on the board of Plano Prime and on the Advisory Board for Christian Parenting through the Denison forum.

Mia spent 10 years in parent education with Practical Parent Education of Collin County.

Mia has provided consultation services and presented to various organizations on a local and national level.  Mia’s most recent role for the past several years has been working within the communities and faith-based organizations of North Dallas facilitating dialogue on race and reconciliation. She is a certified trainer for the Anti-Defamation League and presents throughout the nation on the topic of securing justice and fair treatment for all humans.

Mia’s appreciation for learning and teaching has allowed her a rich and meaningful career in a myriad of areas dealing with social and emotional health.  She has provided community education on local and national platforms.  Mia is married to Tony and they are the parents of two young adult children.

Keynote Speaker:

Professor Dr. Joan S. Tilghman

Dr. Joan Tilghman is a graduate of North Carolina A. & T. State University where she earned a BSN and earned her Ph. D. in Transcultural Nursing from the University of Miami. Dr. Tilghman is a former U.S. Air Force nurse and a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She is a nationally certified Nurse Practitioner and is a nationally certified Nurse Educator.  Dr. Tilghman has been in academia for more than 20 years and has taught at many wonderful universities around the country, including Howard University.  She has worked in nursing programs that includes Associate degree, undergraduate, Masters and doctoral programs.

Dr. Tilghman is currently the Chairperson of the DNP program at Coppin State University in Baltimore Maryland. Dr. Tilghman is a funded nurse researcher. She has served as an Acting Dean Associate  Dean and Program Administrator.  She was selected as one of the Top 100 women in Maryland in 2017.

Through the years she has generously given her time and efforts to numerous charitable organizations including but not limited to the United Negro College Fund.  She is happily married to Rev. (Dr.) Carl Tilghman and resides in Prince Georges County Maryland.  They are the proud parents of Cherie”, Carl II and Dominic.
