FOCC: Sponsorship Opportunities - DFW Private Education

FOCC: Sponsorship Opportunities

What Should I Expect?

Each participating school will have the opportunity to host a booth and a dinner table to interact with prospective families.  All schools will be required to show up one hour early for set up, man their own booth and entertain their dinner party.  Schools are expected to bring their own marketing materials, decor and no more than 2 staff members an ambassador.  If your ambassador is a student, please make sure they're a minimum of 15 years of age or older and dressed in a school uniform.  Students may be asked to perform small tasks like greeting attendees or showing them to your table.  Vendors will have a display booth in the atrium.  Each vendor may is required to supervise their own booth and cannot have more than 2 representatives in attendance.

The Goal

This year DFW Private Education (DFWPE) would like to continue to bring awareness to the lack of minority enrollment and minority teachers in our local private schools.  Our goal will be to focus on the lack of representation in private schools and to help currently enrolled parents navigate the issues they could be facing in their private schools currently. By addressing these hard topics, answering parent questions and engaging, parents will hopefully see how hard our private school community is working to create a more culturally aware and accepting environment.

Why Should I Participate?

Whether you know it or not presence matters.  It is important for people of color to see that DFW private schools want to be a part of something like this and they're not afraid to do it.  The perception by many parents of color (particularly African American parents) is that DFW based private schools are mostly for upper-class Caucasian families.  Over the last year, DFW Private Education has worked extremely hard to show parents that our local private schools are for all who wish to inquire and that there are many benefits a private education.

Who Has Previously Attended?

Last years Families of Color Conference participants were; The Episcopal School of Dallas, The Cambridge School of Dallas, Prestonwood Christian Academy, New Hope Chrisitan Academy, Jesuit College Preparatory School, The Oakridge School, Trinity Christian Academy, Harvest Christian Academy, Cistercian College Preparatory School, Colleyville Covenant Christian Academy, Selwyn School and The Hockaday School.

What Are My Payment Options?

You may sign up via the website or you may also pay by check by requesting an invoice.  Schools also have the option to hold their spot with a $300 deposit to be paid via credit card and the remaining balance due on or before July 29, 2019.
